What is Pysanka?

Pysanky refers to the traditional craft of egg decoration, drawing patterns on eggs using wax, which protects the covered areas when dye is applied.

The process of applying wax patterns followed by different colors of dye produces a buildup of a multi-colored pattern.

The wax is removed at the end, revealling the colors that were applied at each stage.
